Welcome to Patten University Lions Baseball

Patten University Lions Baseball, under the direction of sixth year coach Darin Wright, returns to action with a mix of veterans and new comers to the 2012 roster. The Lions are a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). They travel extensively throughout California and the United States, playing as far as Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Oregon and even Hawaii.
The baseball team is very active in the community through the Make a Wish Foundation (San Francisco chapter), Oakland Children’s Hospital, Toys for Tots, Thanksgiving Share Basket, Livermore Veterans Hospital, and much more. The players continue to help and minister from the platform they are familiar with, the ball field. Not many believe that people can reach out from a sporting venue to reach souls, but in reality, sports platforms offer one of the largest personal contact bases to be able to spread the Word and to reach out to those in need.
The Lions look to return to the post-season after an early exit from this past season's conference tournament, in hopes of its first World Series appearance in school history.
